Opening up Basic options i'm given so many different choices i.e. select video and audio renderer's and decoders using playback or Smartplay interfaces. It's all confusing. Please include some default set-ups for novice users. Thank you.

ZP's installation is quite straight forward..

If you are talking about ZP's install center -
This is done so advanced users can pick the codecs to install instead of automatically installing and not notifying the users which codecs have been installed.

P.s. I changed the suggestion to include a more detailed description of what I meant. Though didn't have enogh room to include the addition of a help file so posted that as a seperate suggestion. Thank you for answering my suggestions so quickly. :)

I wouldn't call myself a novice users, but there is still a bewildering array of choices. A simple help file would really be helpful explaining what all the different codes are used for and explanations of all the other stuff such as the various decoders and renderers.

I'm sure there are more novice users than expert users out there.

A help file is always needed.. This is why we have guides, video tutorials and a support forum.

I'll also note that the default settings should be enough for novice users, where the Smartplay feature automatically chooses filters, splitters and decoders.

We try! :)

I watched the DVD version of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows pt 1 this evening. I have both the DVD and Blue Ray versions and my computer has a blue Ray player, so it was disappointing that i could only watch the film via the normal DVD. I did suggest adding Blue Ray capabilities to this program in another suggestion. This would in my opinion make this a much more versatile piece of kit and more likey for me to use it as I'm only buying blue Ray movies now (I purchased the special edition of Harry Potters collection which contained both the DVD and Blue Ray). I do hope that the suggestions that I've made (several of them) will be implemented because I do like this player.

Also after visiting the giveaway project almost since it's inception back in October 2006 I rarely see developers who bother to take the time to reply to users. I appreciate this and it makes me feel that you could be trusted with any problems I may have running your software. I do hope you add Blue ray capabilities soon. :)
